Shedd Aquarium Kiosk and Game

while working at Mightybytes

I worked with the Shedd Aquarium while being a designer at Mightybytes. The client came to us in need of a kiosk that taught visitors about what everyone could do to conserve resources and inform visitors about how the Shedd was contributing.

As a team we decided to create games as a fun way to learn about conservation. We developed three game concepts that involved visitors to pledge to conserve energy or water and would be played on tablets. Two large screens were mounted above the tablets in order to show visitors ecosystem health graphics and data. With every pledge visitors could see how they turned an unhealty ecosystem healthier by viewing animated color shifts on an svg graphic.

As the designer on the team for this project I sketched out concepts for the client, wireframed and designed the final graphics and ui, wireframed the flow of how users would use the tablets and play the games, and did all the illustration work and svg creation.
